Project Management in Clinical Trials – a Healthy and Sustainable Future – interview with Agata Bloswick

A few weeks ago I had the chance to sit down for a chat with Kornelia Trzęsowska for the PMI magazine. We talked about the special character of Project Management in clinical trials, but also about how sustainability drive will impact a healthier future.

This discussion made me realize how much my two parallel passions of leadership in the clinical research space and sustainability have been feeding off each other throughout my entire career, and how much they allowed me to grow as a person and as a leader.

My sustainability drive and associated social campaigns have taught me how to create a compelling vision, rally people, and engage them in action, which is an important leadership skill that I used at my job, effectively leading a department of close to 2500 people; while my project management skills acquired through a decade of clinical project delivery experience have been instrumental in managing my projects in sustainability, where stakeholder analysis, work breakdown structure, and timeline management have helped push seemingly impossible-to-achieve sustainability goals forward.

Sometimes when taking on seemingly unrelated challenges, you develop skills and solutions in both – and sometimes you only realize it after many years.
